Title: Golf heads

right question about heads, i have a 1.8gti fuel injection engine b reg, bottom end is shagged. would i be able to put the head onto a block of an F reg 1.6 carb'd engine?

do you mean you could you swap the bottom ends over so you effectively have a 1.6 k-jet?

On a similar note, are heads from cars with solid lifters interchangeable with heads with hydraulic tappets?
