Strange:
My Freg 8v - seems to be playing up - only when cold - It ticks over at 400rpm, u need to give some gas until it is warm - then the revs goes upto 1500 automatically then back to 900, ok for the rest of the day, even if left for 2-4 hrs :-/
Have read some notes on this before but silly me ran out petrol and has happened since then but I really dont think this is it! Have used redex just help but didnt seem to make much difference
Also my gear box has gone after 150000 miles is that about right? ???

It might be worth checking you idle stablization valve. It's a silver cylinder normally with a VDO sticker on it, which is above the rocker cover on the right hand side. It should be buzzing when the engine is on, and it maybe worth taking it off and cleaning it, something like carb cleaner should do it, then rinse it with water, let dry and put back on. May work may not.
