Title: 57i Induction Kit
Post by: 199716v on 09 December 2003, 22:44
 :)
Hi, i own a standard GTI 16v (97) and contemplating fitting an induction air filter. Does anyone know whether it makes a performance difference or which is the best induction kit to get?

Thanx.

K&N are good. Get good improvements in power mid-range, a few extra hp overall. A good investment i think.

Induction kits are good, but think the K&N are poo, go for the PiperX Kits slightly more expensive but better quality and noise. Chuck on a back box, might help a bit.

I have a K&N 57i on my VR6 and along with scorpion exhaust it almost sounds V8ish!! Highly recommended.  ;D

So? What is it then - K&N or PiperX?

Need to know this guys because I'm about to order one or the other for my 2.0 16v. I was told K&N are best - now I read PiperX are better!!!

Decisions, decisions....

Cheers ;D

Does an induction kit help at all with the need to keep a 16v mk3 above 4000 rpm to get the most out of the engine! does it give a bit more low end grunt, and i have got a magnex twin dtm on already!
