Title: Fitting twin 40s to 1.8 (GU)
Post by: Mk3Magic on 10 April 2003, 21:56
Posted a similar message in the 'Garage' section but hey... I'm gonna be fitting twin dellorto 40s to a mk2 1.8-GU engine in the not too distant future. Will i be have to replace the fuel pump with a performance one or will the existing set up do the job seeing as though the car is already carbed???

Any other advice would be appreciated!!!
Cheers

Hi mate

I have fitted twin 40's to MK1 Escorts in the past and have found that the standard fuel pump is not always the job.

You're probably better off with a performance fuel pump, i.e Facet.

It does depend on how modified the rest of the engine is though.
