Title: HELP! vr6 buying tips...
Post by: cris on 24 May 2006, 09:56
evenin'...

i went to look at this car yesterday, going for £1895:

1992 Volkswagen Golf VR6, J-reg, 3 Doors, Manual, Petrol, 100,000 miles, Metallic black, 3 Owners. ABS, BBS Alloy wheels, CD, Central locking, Adjustable steering column/wheel, Anti theft system, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Full service history, clifford alarm

generally looked pretty sweet, and the engine ran very smooth. the only problems were cosmetic/bodywork related, esp. a bit a of rust along the bottom of rear window seam. i looked at the costs of various repairs, and basically, it would need about 1k between the bodyshop and the scrappy to get it perfect = a good early vr6 for a total of about 3k spent by the end of summer.

opinions?  :undecided:

3k is too much, you can easily get a later one for that.
