Title: WATER IN REAR FOOTWELL....HELP!!!
Post by: edzman47 on 23 May 2006, 12:19
HI[/b],
With all this lovely British summer time weather we are having lately I've just noticed a large puddle of water in my rear drivers side footwell. It's a 3 door Mk3 98" in excellence condition with low miles, I've checked the door seals and they seem to be OK the boot is dry and I just can't think for the love of money where it is coming in from...please can any one  tell me if they've had the same problem and won't can I do to cure it..???????

Its probably your door membrane. Take the door card off and replace it making sure its sealed correctly.

Just in case - get underneath and poke about, hit the floor gently with a hammer, see if any rust drops!

I don't think it will be the rear washer pipe because I've only just had it serviced by V.W and as part of the service is to put that fancy lemon stuff in the water so when you use the washers it DE-bugs and smells nice to, there for the inside would be a really strong lemon smell. Thank for your idea if I did not have that stuff in there I would have definitely of check it out...Cheers.
