Title: Had car lowered, and front end appears to be riding high.

Had my Mk3 Golf GTi lowered a few days ago using Eibach Pro springs(got them at a bargain price) with the OE Shocks(can't afford to get replacement shocks yet and eibach say their springs work well with OE shocks), Had a garage fit them and when I went to pick it up the back end had dropped nicely but the front end is still riding pretty high (doesn't appear to have dropped that much when you compare it with the back) The mechanic told me that the fronts would need some time to settle then it'll come down.. Been a few days now and not seeing much movement.. Anyone had a similar experience with these springs and the front not lowering as much as the rears? And is there anything I can do to bring the front DOWN! lol.. Car appears to sit nice and level from the side when looking at it so at least it's not looking back end heavy, but would really like the front to come down a cm or so more.. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated thanks :)

hi
had same problem with my car so fitted lowering spring caps on front only from
www.venommotorsport.com £15 they are.

nothing in the boot apart from the spare and the tool kit that comes with it....

Thanks Carl for that info, I'll check them out.. :) So it'll be front springs/shocks out again if I fit them on? Might have a go myself, rather than foot another bill for a garage to do it. Really gotta start working on the car myself again.

dont forget the camber needs to be done if you are doing it yourself or your tyres will wear quickly.

How easy are these to fit Carl? I have a little mechanical knowledge but not afraid to get my hands dirty.. I'm guessing the whole strut is going to have to come out right? Am I going to need a spring compressor also etc?

its very easy just 1 bolt at top 2 at the bottom then the strut is off ,the top nut may just turn and not come undone so you need a alan key at the top of strut to hold  and stop it spinning ,and dont forget the brake pipe needs takeing out of its fitment on strut and abs wire needs uncliping,then you need to compress the springs with clamps and then undo the top nut that is holding the spring then all done ,just make sure you remember how everything comes off so you put it together right .
