mk2 golf gti I have always wanted one since i was little because my dad used to have a mk1 gti and a mk2 gti then we got a audi 801.8i I dunno weather to start with a 8 valve or a 16 yet
-
test drive both
16v is far more desirable
-
Go for 16v - I wish I had :(
-
8v is cheaper on insurance for our ages. 16 is more desired but have a heavy drinking problem i was told.#
8v is probably more easy to work on aswel?
Good starting point with an 8v i think

Sorry to change the subject back to the original question, but...
A few of us try and meet at different shows throughout the year, and there are sometime a few local meets organised here and there. But there seems to be a lot of interest being generated in the Newark Sunday Lunch Meet in January (check out the post in the event section) Try and get down for it - should only be about 2 or 3 hours from you? Failing that, I think we may try and organise a club pitch at one of the VWAction events next year.
You can always look at the gallery for an idea of who you are talking to, there are a few of us on there

i started with the 16v sold it after a year and brought a newer 8v which i kept for a couple of months and then brought my old 16v back :) the reason? simple the grin factor
