Not happy!
Went out to my car before to find some little pikey has tried to break into my car. They pulled the guard plate back a bit then when that didn't work just hacked into the handle with a screwdriver. They managed to get the door unlocked but had butchered the handle in doing so and so couldn't open the door. Fortunately i hadn't fixed my central locking so the drivers door remain locked.
I was thinking about getting some mk3 style handles but now i need to do something sharpish. How secure are they? Also, can i fit new armour plates with the mk3 style handles?
Cheers, Ben.

MK3 handles are wank beyond wank. Just get some more ADPs and a new lock. They did the job this time and will again. At the end of the day if they want to get in that bad then they will smash a window.
-
That's that one sorted then, cheers mate! VWspares are the cheapest, anyone got a reason why i shouldn't get them from there?
Haven't got a clue what they were after as there was literally nothing in the car: no face plate on the radio, no cd's around, no speakers, no money or fags, nothing! Even the alarm sensors which are clearly visible didn't seem to deter them. But like you say, if they want to get in then there's always the window.

yeah thats why i got rid of my pull handles, i garantee if you had had them on your car then your car would have been broken into for sure, in seconds probably

I have a set in the box on the wardrobe, tried fitting them once and they were a complete bastard so put them back in the box and they haven't moved since. They are a waste of money.
The ADP's are going to the best deterrent and security measure.

Haribo, bit weird after me asking if you still had the mk3 handles for sale yesterday evening eh!?
-
they would be very safe if you armed them through a coil so if the little F***ers get hold of em the fry

Don't get the cheap ADP's - genuine are only about £35 and all the others are w&nk

There's too much work for the audi 80 handles tbh.
Sorry, i meant new door handles from vwspares, not the adp's.

:nerd: If you take the barrels out of your old locks (undo screw and slide out) you can carefully slide the pins out, do it one by one or you'll have a nightmare working out where they go, then slide the same pin out of the new lock and replace it with the old one, voilla - replacement locks on the original key :smug:

ah ADP= armour door plate, im dumb, haha, yeah i got those with standard handles to replace the mk3 ones, best decision i had made for a while
