Title: Steering wheel for Mark 2 GTi (1990)

Help - I'm after a leather steering wheel for my newly acquired GTi - is it right that there are two different steering wheel shaft sizes i.e. pre-1989 20mm(ish) and 1990+ 30mm(ish)??

Would a Rallye steering wheel fit my car??

Complete novice - excuse potential stupidity of question but HELP!

I think the Rallye only came out in 89/90 so i would guess it is the larger spline. Don't go buying a wheel based on what i have said though!

I think the smaller wheel was pre 87, but don't quote me on that.
You can still fit a smaller spline wheel, you just need a decent gear puller to get the adaptor off the column!
