Title: electric sun roof not working
Post by: peterb on 15 May 2006, 22:38: Can anyone help , My electric sun roof on my Mk 3 8V will only tilt at the back , will not slide .any ideas? Worked perfectly then suddenly stopped !

Post by: adyh on 16 May 2006, 10:18: Check with the allen key that the sun roof will go back . That then discounts the runners as a problem . Then check the switch , finally the motor .

Post by: chappers02 on 16 May 2006, 20:31: i've got this problem with mine too - appartently its a common fault. The cable breaks on one side which means it wont go back properly. I'm going to have to get mine refurbished - the parts are quite expensive though!

I thought the roof only tilted so i haven't even bothered looking into it!! Bloody VWs, why do we love them so much!!

Post by: chappers02 on 29 May 2006, 17:19: I've just had mine refurbished. It was Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£100.00 for the parts plus Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£60.00 for labour. Works fine now.

If anyone in Hampshire area wants ths guys details, let me know!

Post by: whit on 01 June 2006, 10:33: mine operates fine from inside the car but doesn't auto close when locking the car and holding the key in the locked position. any ideas???????? windows auto close but not the roof??
