last week i put a post up saying power loss, i thought it mite be MAf but took it to my local VW specialist and he diagnosed it and its coming up with a boost overflow error or something , which he explained is to do with the variable vain system, its basically doing something that isnt opening the waist gate so therfore its powering down...
said its becomign a common problem with these cars, he mentioned that somethign is seized up i think it was the gate thing and that to replace the turbo it wud be 1000.00 or near about s but the other option is to strip the turbo down and clean it all out, and he guarantees this will sove the problem... quoted around 300 quid
what do u think bl00dy car has only 38k on it and its 02 SE TDI... says u shud drive it harder so that the valve doesnt seize up?

gutted for you m8y, although if you look on the bright side... if hes certain he can fix it then its only (a big only...) £300 nicker and not the big £1K.......
still for a car with only 38k on the clock it does seem a tad strange!!
It also gives you an excuse to thrash the arse off it now
" no Mr officer, i was told to speed so that my Turbo/waste gate thingy doesnt sieze up again"
good job you never changed the MAF now :embarassed:
