I am a proud owner of a Mk2 1300 Golf, the problem is that i've had the car since being a student and am now 25. I'm doing about 55 miles a day to and from work, so I want something that is a bit better on the fuel but has more grunt. The last thing is that I want to retain the Mk2 because I have mustered up quite a collection of Mk2 parts which would be swapped over to the new motor. Is there such thing as a diesel but GTI spec? Oh yeah it has to be 3-door, HELP ME YOU GUYS. ???

there was a gtd which has gti looks but diesel engine

why dont you just pick yourself a mk2 gti, fuel consumption is pretty good, you could expect around 38/40 mpg if your right foot is not too heavy

by the way, welcome to the forum :)
