Wondering if anyone can help.
I drive with my seat quite low down but it annoys me that the passenger seat is floating around in the air, especially noticeable when you take a photo of the car! Is it possible to take the subframe from another driver's seat and put my passenger seat on it in order to get the height adjustment? Does the base of the seat just bolt on or would i have to use the seat base and subframe from the donor seat and swap the back over with mine so that the handle to tilt the seat forwards is on the correct side?
Any help would be appreciated.

i would have thought you could do that quite easily, in fact i may do myself if it turns out easy, i think the subframe is part of the bottom bit of the seat and i dont think it come off, i took the whole lot apart not too long back to change the seat covers but i cant quite remember, you could probably mount the tilt handle on the other side of the chair and if not then the seat comes into two pieces really easily anyway to swp it all round, its blatently doable,

You cant use a driver seat base as everything is the wrong way round! But what you could do is fit a Polo MK3 GT seat base, as I think these are lower? Or a MK2 LHD seat subframe. Or a set of Rocco/Corrado seats, as both seats are height adjustible :)
Pre 90 & Post 90 MK2 seat subframes are different, so make sure you bear this in mind if you get a LHD base!
Edit: Or just put the headrest all the way down

Sorted! I've found a Corrado interior so i'm going for that as i quite like the rear bench too.
Cheers guys.

do scirocco seat subframes fit on gti seats?

Nope, they are a different design. Well, perhaps some really early MK1 Scirocco ones but I doubt it.
