Title: Total miles display

Hi all..

My dad owns a mk3 GTI 8v (93 K reg). When he turns on the ignition, all the lights come on as normal, but also in the total miles LCD screen, 'IN O2' flashes. It does this for about 5 seconds. Is this normal? The car runs fine with no apparent faults.

car needs an 02 service which should be an anual service or after 10,000 miles
