Title: Does std CD player do MP3s on CD-R?

As the title says...

If not does anyone know if its possible to have the USB port retro fitted to "older" MK5's (I only got mine 3 weeks ago but it still doesn't have one :(

What are my other options for playing MP3's in the car?

I believe the only (VW approved) option for MP3 through a std head unit (RCD series)is the ipod interface (~£160).
