Title: Is it me, or are these lights bigger?

I've studied these pics for ages and I don't know if it's the angle or what but the headlights in the top picture look larger in diameter than those in the bottom pic.

Is it my imagination? If not, how's it done?

No red surround and because they are crystal make them look bigger.
