Title: Golf GTI MK3 Interior Light always on

Please can someone point me in the right direction before I investigate this and spend hours wasted

On my 1997 16V my Interior Light is always on when its in the Delay position. Though when I close the door and turn the ignition on it turns off. The problem is when you leave the car after opening the door to get out and closing it and setting the alarm is stays on. It stsays on even without setting the alarm also.

It was on all last night without me ralising until earlier.

Has anyone experienced this before and knows where the fault is. Maybe there is a relay that controls the interior light delay that is causing an issue?

I hate Electrics!

Please can someone help

Not meaning to be funny here, but have you checked that the switch for the interior light is on the correct setting?

Failing that i would check the switch that operates the light, normally found inside the door inbetween the locks, alothough i am not sure if it is here on the mark 3, will go look in a bit for you tho!

take the bulb out ;D
