Title: GTI 30 years
Post by: OlliBlue on 09 May 2006, 20:36
Leaked by the official VW dealer in Brussels, but don't quote me on it ...

Cloth/Leather seats
Golfball on manual gear stick
R32 smoked rear lights
special "30 years" floor mats
230bhp
GTI "30 years" badge on steering wheel
Special alloys (bbs I think, 19")
"30 years" badges around the cars exterior

Will prob not be avail in Belgium, if they are, only about 10 will be imported

Production starts sep/oct 2006.

I got this info cause they put my order through today, MY07 started ...

Not temped at all, Belgian tax system will kill me ...
That's why my local dealer has only sold 5 GTI's in total ...

5?! What is the tax issue?
Title: Re: GTI 30 years
Post by: OlliBlue on 09 May 2006, 22:20
registration tax 1,9 TDI (most popular model) : 123 euros
registration tax GTI 200 bhp: 2500 euros
registration tax GTI "30 years" 230 bhp : 5000 euros !! ( highest amount possible !)

annual tax will only be 252€ tdi / 328€ gti / 328€ gti "30 years" , so that's ok

insurance ... well me insurer looked worried when I told him I was getting a 200bhp car.
when you're under 30 (I'm 25), it will cost a fortune... thank God I have a clean sheet

I've only seen 3 GTI's around here , 2 of them where French, other one was the VW test-car

Ouch! Why is the registraton tax twice as much for the 30 year GTI?
Title: Re: GTI 30 years
Post by: OlliBlue on 09 May 2006, 22:42
Because it's more than 155kw, normal GTI is 147kw

btw, annual tax is double for diesel engine above 2000cc

that's why my A4 2,5 TDI had 163 instead of 180bhp
and 2,0TDI is 136, not 140bhp

the BMW 525D is avail with 3 different BHP's for tax reasons !

I've heard of a light weight 230bhp version!!!  it's sounds interesting and much like a proper honda type R, no A/C or electric windows........

Aren't gti's in uk more expensive?

Anyway, I'm buying it on my company, so I get 50% back from taxes.

Insurance will be about 1400£ a year, fully covered.

PS: please excuse my spelling errors, been a while since I've spoken/wrote in English

this info comes from autoscoops.eu

Okay, i just trawled some sites (inc autoscoop) here in Germany.

According to the Golf Record Day website VW turned up at the GRD event in Gelsenkirchen with a 30th Anniversary Golf (which incidently doesnt look like the one on autoscoop.eu), which they said they have no plans, as yet, to put into production.

VW.de have recently announced their 2007 model range.  Main points from the range are:
R32
Golf Speed (which comes in fantastic tangerine colour!) looky - http://www.volkswagen.de/vwcms_publish/vwcms/master_public/virtualmaster/de3/modelle/golf/golf0/ausstattungslinien/Golf_Speed.html

New golf GT

...and the Gti

No mention at all of any 30th anniv edition.............for now...............................

(fingers crossed!!)

Sorry Olli, i missed your reply!!!   Yeah, they maybe more expensive in uk, but because im british but work outside of the counry, i didnt pay any tax on the vehicle - should have been £21000 and i paid £17400 including delivery!   May not work to Belgium - i dont know for sure.

only 100 numbered cars to be made - any idea of the cost?
Title: Re: GTI 30 years
Post by: antpal on 23 May 2006, 08:33
Not sure on cost, but its coming with either 2.0 FSI 150PS or 2.0 TDI 140PS - so similar performance maybe to the GT.
6 speed manual or double clutch dsg.

Love the wheel nuts btw!
