Title: driver side electric window stopped working

Hi gti heads

anyone got any ideas

I have a mk 3 Golf Gti 8v and the driver side window stopped working all of a sudden.

I know its not the motor because all 4 windoes can be lowered and raised using the central locking.

I thought it could be a fuse but I on looking at the fuse tray it doesn't specify and fuses for the electric windows.

Any ideas anyone of what it could be or where the fuse is for the windows

have a look where the wires run from the door to inside the car behind the rubber (it just twists off)
as this is a weak spot for breaking wires ,i had 2 broke on mine.
