Title: ABS. Removal of bulb panel without damage?
Post by: STOMMO on 09 May 2006, 16:55
Hi
How do I remove the panel that the ABS bulb is behind on my 97 GTI without any damage to the surrounding area. The ABS light is not coming on at all and has been no problem in the past, I'm assuming that the bulb has blown. I HOPE!!!

Hi
Fine. Ive got it out and the bulb is black so it looks like its bust. It looks to me like I need a new circuit board with both ABS and airbag bulbs. Is this correct and how much am I looking at from main steelers or is there somewhere on line that can do the trick for me?

I don't think you can. I had to cover mine up for the MOT ( don't ask) cos i didn't think it would come out without causing damage.  :undecided:

You can,t replace bulbs ,they are soldered onto board( unless youre a wizard with a pin size soldering iron) Ive managed to source a unit off of E.Bay. I dont know what we would do without good ole E.Bay. Rejoice!!!
