Title: Moved to the dark side
Post by: richy on 07 May 2006, 11:40
Hi all,

I'm afraid I've moved to the dark side.  Here are some pics of my new motor

I've still also got a Mk4 polo, so I'm not all evil

They're quite big pics, so might take a min. to load (also you may have to scroll left-right if you've got a small screen).

Good skills man. Now, you need the following:

De-tango'd front end
STi rear clusters
Scoobysport exhaust
Drop links
Anti-lift kit
Re-map

I'll probably detango it, but only do the other stuff if you pay for the insurance!

You NEED the anti-lift kit mate, transforms the handling and improves the brakes like you wouldn't believe.

Get the Prodrive suspension geometry settings done at the same time, erradicates 100% of understeer, becomes a proper sideways monster!!!

Looks nice and clean

I've nearly been tempted aswell in the past, but not sure if I could live with the interior though after German quality.....

Interior is better than I expected - Not one rattle, and lots of nice little cubby holes.   My golf was rattley as fook once I hardened up the suspension.

Seats are comfy and very supportive - you can get a much better driving position than in the golf.  There's no bells and whistles, but you dont have time to pay attention to that when you're concentrating on the rapidly approaching scenery!  I will miss the aircon though.

I bought it from a subaru specialist, but they also had a couple of 02/03 evo's.  v Nice, but expensive (£15K ish).

Blue is the best colour for scoobies.
