have beenn digging and found tin worm by the bucket load, front wings obviously shot as are the inner ones, the sills, holes in roof, both doors, rear arches gone, tailgate shot, she wont start (well been stood since '97) oh an I found a huge hole at the rear arch/sill area
Still a mate's gonna lend me his welder so time to start learning
And on the upside the interior is not bad, appart from boulsters of course, and the car is 100% origional.........appart from the towbar maybe, which although hurst me every time I round the back (just like the missus!) is growing on me (just like.. better not)

Oh an some details, well it's a '79 GTI on a V plate, with red tartan interior and a sunroof, and um that's about all I know as there's no paperwork and awaiting a V5!
Have no idea what colour she is, though looks like some sort of storm green to me and it is the origional colour (bar a sh*t respray)
Had a bargain with the wheels to........

Cheers guys an gals, also gotta get a 'box on the black one in my sig and MOT the old gal so I can get rid of my run around jap crap, and only have 2 cars! Gotta get that done a.s.a.p as the missus really didn't want me to get the '79, but it had to be done

Oh if anyone out there in the south wales region can recommend a good welder/fabricator that would be FAB. Or eveb better if anyone wants to come over and give me a hand they're more than welcome

Just back from hols, again thanks for comments.
As for the motor at the moment the plans are to just get her up and running (if possible) and hopefuly keep her origional appart from slammed, maybe. Would like to find some chrome goodies for her as it'd look the part, but hey that's a long way off yet .
