For some reason when I pull away on a hill/slope or when I am crawling slowly (10-15mph) uphill in traffic I hear a tapping/knocking noise from the front end. This disappears on a flat road and when I speed up to over 20mph. Any ideas what it could be. Doesnt seem to affect steering and only at low speeds so c.v joint I dont think is the problem. Its as if something is catching when the angle of the car is anything but horizontal?
any ideas????? ???

Is it worse on a bumpy road? 1st thought is cv joints.

Doesnt seem to make any difference to be honest. usually on normal A-roads stuck in traffic when I notice it. like I say i only tend to hear it when going slow and uphill and never any other times. Had the drivers side cv joint replaced about 12 months ago, so could be the other side. If it was cv joint thought I would hear it more when cornering , etc.?? Will have a look under it this weekend
