OK, I've been toying with the idea of making my car matt black, but hadn't seen any examples for me to make my mind up with.
At last I have found this:

So what do people think about it?
edit: oops, what a tosser i am, took a / out of the image tag...

looks good, the only thing about matt finish is keeping it looking flat all over.

better make sure it's a straight one, matt black will show every tiny little detail up, good or bad,

Yeah, i have a couple of probs on the doors to sort, ie the drivers door has some surface rust, the passenger door has a little dent, which I'm gonna pop out (cleanly hopefully), before the job is attempted, I don't want it looking like this

I done the Boot (and an ickle bit of the rear quarter (where some alarm keyhole was) in Matt and two coats of lacquer to protect it a couple weeks ago, which looks pretty good, but close up I can see the little probs, so I'll be doing the boot again, too...but it will be best if its all done at the same time.
Just do I go Big Bumpers or Small, I like the idea of full smoothed Big bumpers...

I think matt black looks good.. Ive painted a couple of cars over the years, the best way to deal with it though, is once its done, just leave it alone, dont try and keep it too clean, otherwise you lose that "look" that keeps it looking like a cool car, that Mk2 in the first post, is more of a satin black..IMHO dosnt look anywhere near as good as proper matt black... you know, the sort of stuff that makes you cringe, when you drag your fingernails down it!
