Title: What's a Redeye?

It's a GTi that's all I can find out - any info appreciated (ie BHP 4WD etc.....)

Doesn't mean diddly, mate.  All models of GTi, any age can have a red eye, as it was down to dealers to stick badges on.

Half true

The red "i" badges were meant for the 1.8turbo models and the all silver badges were meant for the normally aspirated ones.  Although after a while the dealers did just badge them with whatever they picked up :angry:
