just thought id say hello. ive got a black mk2 gti 8v on a b reg, just spent all night changing the gearbox and doing work for its mot. havent owned a vw before, had plenty of novas, astras and cavaliers, glad to finally own a car that feels solid and drives smoothly.
-
Hi mate i gots a f reg 16v, miss the rear wheel drive of my mr2 though, but the bonus of backseats make up for it ;D
-
ive been in an mr2 turbo, isnt really much room in the front either. dont half go sideways though. rwd = death for me. in my nova i somehow think im richard burns and invincible.
-
I had a mk1 t-bar, now my dad has it :o thought that front leg room was quite goo though 8) sideways drivin was fun didnt even need to be goin fast, which i did do on lots of occasions mind u ;D
-
My celica GT4 was the same engine as the MR2 turbo, but with 4WD, stuck to the road like glue!! I do miss it, but still have more fun in the golf
-
them gt4's are well fast indeed. one of the cars ive always wanted actually, that and a supra
-
Yeh, it was an animal. I loved it to bits, but someone offered me 2 grand over the odds for it , so I sold it - it looks a mess now though :'(
-
Gotta admit japs are animals.
My mate let me rip his fast&Furious styled CRX before he sold it.
It wasnt even a 16v V-Tec and was very very fast :o
-
I had a test drive in a sohc crx and was very nice but didnt offer the same value for money as the golf i bought, i would like one as a second car though ;D dohc though obviously 8)
-
You always get what you pay for, jap cars are super quick and cheap, so wheres the catch? i think they won't last.
-
There not really cheap at all when i was lookin at crx`s over double what i paid for my golf for a similar car, milleage, condition, etc
-
I hate to say this but they dont get silly problems like ''my ISV messed up'' etc etc :-\
they last a lifetime but dont deliver the class as a VW?
what u think ???
-
im sure they have there own stupid faults though :-\
-
How much is a skyline? gtos? will they be around in 10-15 years? only time will tell how well these cars are built.
-
CRX's are death traps and they do have their faults also, i.e. they rot like f**k round the aerial, and also the rear arches
they do go like stink though
how many CRX's do u see nowadays?? not many, and thats why the price is extorionate
same goes for the old civic 16v's & vtec's
-
ok u won me over. ther shiyte! lol V-DUBZ RULE WOHHOO! :D
-
i think jap mobiles are actually really well built. for the money an evo 7 has to be one of the quickest cars you can buy, not just in a straight line but round bends aswell.
prezza's are just poor mans evo's and skylines, well, theyre not as quick as theyre hyped up to be. a mate has a gtr v-spec one and another of my mates has a 350bhp cossie. the cossie wastes it from start to finish its as if the skyline was a 1litre fiesta racing an rs turbo.
i mean vw's are built well, ive noticed that the last few days from lying underneath mine fixing stuff, and yeah, the gti ive got on a b reg 1985 is far far cleaner than my j reg nova gsi. a lot more solid so they are going to outlast most cars about.
crx's, oh dear, what a terrible car. i guess they designed the back seats around small japanese people.
-
does anyone rate the prelude? thinkin of gettin a 2.2vtec on a k plate as a second car, there fast i know and quite cheap considering you get climate ect so there must be a catch apart from insurance wot do ya think?
-
theyre not bad cars, i like the look of them and its a honda so its gonna be reliable as hell with a 9k rev limit.
cant see any downside really, easy engines to turbo apparantly.
