Title: My New R32
Post by: FASTEDDIE 1 on 01 May 2006, 17:34
Hi all
New to this forum !!

Always looked through the forum for advice & general knowledge, now i decided it was time to join in.

So i just sold my 1997 Golf GTI 8v (Dragon Green). Excellent car, had 7 years great driving out of it.  I always wanted the R32 just like most of us, & guess what - I just bought myself one & it takes my breath away everytime i jump into her.
I have to say you do get some looks when driving it around !
I'm in N.Ireland & found it very hard to pick one up in the dealers over here, so i took myself of to England & got my dream car.

Anyone got any good ideas about the spare wheel situation, or lack of it. Naturally i dont want to carry a full size wheel around in the boot. Has anyone ever used the tyre foam - if so does it do the job, or is it hopeless??
I have included a photo of my new car (Oct 03) Black, full black leather etc etc. What do you all think ????
Thanks
Eddie

Avoid tyre foam mate because it fooks your tyre they can't repair a puncher after you use it you have to buy a new tyre.
Wish i could insure a R32 i would have got one

For Insurance try Elephant.co.uk & add a woman driver as a second driver - watch those premiums fall. I saved about £150 by this method.
I wish my insurance was as cheap as you boys over there on the Mainland!!

:smiley:Top car matey! Just wondering what your insurance is.Im 29 and i just got quoted 840 fully comp on the r32.My gti costs me 320 per year so its a fair jump in costs a year but im sure its worth it!Just got to persuade the misses to let me get one!

I payed £1025 full comp (i told u we get ripped off over here in N.Ireland). I am also 29. Full no claims driving since i was 18 etc etc!
Trust me it is well worth it.
Even for the sound of the pipes alone

MMMMMM SWEEEEEET  That is a cracking motor mate I did have a look for one but they were all a little too pricey for me unless I had wanted the blue ones but the black is definitely the pick of the bunch.

I got a 3dr 4 motion in pearl black and she goes like stink so I can only imagine what your is like good work!

I shall keep mine for a year or 2 and then trade up to one me thinks, ive had 2 of each mark with the exception of MK1's and then I think it will be a MK5 GTI in Black cos they do look pretty sweet.
