Hi,
Managed to hunt down a Campagin, however its a tad rusty round the sunroof. Bubbling up is also on the side of the roof when you wind the sunroof back.
Has anyone ever restored a Mk1 with this kind of rusting?
I could post pictures if need be.

No roof - no rust ;)
I hear the sunroof is a bit of a water trap, so there should be plenty of help out there for you. If the price reflects it, then buy it - reckon it cant be too much of a job to repair

the only way to get rid of rust on any panel is to cut it out and replace with new metal, a good bodyshop will be able to do this . don't go down the line of rust eaters etc if the rust is any worse than surface as it will just bubble up again

Mine had exactly the same prob when I got it and actually had holes in it, its probably caused by bloked drain hoses so rainwater sloshes about in the roof.
I didnt have mine welded, just proffesionally rust treated and resprayed, got the drain tubes sorted and its been ok ever since.
