I have some of those I think I will try out on my valver when It gets back on the road (if it ever gets back on the road), get some silver indicator bulbs to avoif the fried egg look.
-
sorry but
the vw half or full smokeys are the best i rekon. Not a fan of the crystals but its your car if you like them go for it.....u still got THE best colour
-
Thanks all, colour is nice, but needs some sorting, and a lot of polishing in the mean time.
Wheels are ace, but a so and so to clean!
I've used nearly half a tank of fuel in only about 100km, I think she might be running a bit rich though....
smells of unburnt petrol a bit, even when up to temp.
-
what are your plans for it then?
-
Plans?
Firstly to polish paint and Rims, also steam clean the interior !
Then bodyshop quotes....
As for tuning, it's a good base for a project, recent complete engine rebuild by The Phirm, and has a ported 'charger.
May well run smaller pulley etc, given time.
Handling not too bad, it's on a spax kit at the moment, quite low, don't think it has any uprated arb's though.
Brakes are good, been done with Zimmermans (I think) and green stuff pads.
-
Sounnds good, get some more pictures up though!
-
A friend of mine with a good digital SLR took pics, and burnt a CD for me round his place, but when I got home, the CD was blank !
-
maybe the G60 was too quick for the cd!
-
that looks prett phat on those wheels!! get some better pics up!!

welcome to owning a g60 mate they are absolute pi55heads when it comes to drinking petrol
-
Gulp!
How many Miles/KM to a tank in your then mate?
-
Best 225 miles, worst 175 miles on mine
-
I have probably done less than 400 miles in it since i bought it(took it for a quick blast today   ) , so fuel economy has not been top of my priorities!!,
but it drinks more than my vr6  which is not exactly frugal,
-
Just had a phone call form the VW Expert, she needs a little under arch seam welding, where someone has been a bit hasty cutting away the arches, and one rear shock is leaking. Everything else good..
So, I am thinking Koni adjustable Dampers and Eibach Springs...
Good ride / comfort
or
Koni damping and ride height adjustable coilovers.
slammed !
What do peeps reckon?
EDIT: It will be a daily more or less, with some track use. Oh and I'll be doing ARBs at the same time too.
-
depends how many miles you do in it. my view is, there's no point having coilies if you're going to poof about putting them on their softest setting, go as low and hard as you can.. thats what they're made for
if you have to drive it every day then surely comfort is more important than balls out handling performance.. it'll still handly well on shocks/springs.. its a mk2 afterall !
ps. i dont even keep track of my mpg.. im sure it'd be too frightening... the joys of a 65mm pulley and wild cam.
-
^^^ and 200+bhp eh toph?!
i agree coilovers if you want slammed but the koni/eibach is a quality set up!
-
OK, a few peeps asked for decent pics, here are a few...

68mm Pully coming soon...

144 at the wheels? not too shabby! why's the graph so zig-zaggy? i'd have thought it would've been alot smoother?

I'm no expert on exactly how rolling roads work, but I do know electronics. I suspect the little bumps could be caused by the method used to calculate the engine rpm? Do they do it by sensing the ignition pulses? They connected wires to the battery terminals is the reason i ask.
Anyway The chaps at Storm were well pleased with how the car was running. What you don't want is big peaks or troughs on the graph.
-

Yeah. but I now have some !

Well as you all should know by now Storms figures are a load of CR@P!
Work it out for yourself.
My Storm figure = 173.7 bhp
Co Clifford figure = 156 bhp which is far more accurate!
11.5% I make it.
So your true figure comes out at 151.7 bhp.
-
Len, I agree that some of the results were a bit optimistic, based on the recent rolling road day there. I am purely using this as an estimated before and after result for fitting a smaler super charger pully.

Sweet. Is there a reasonable pub in Tilehurst? Most look like Chav holes.
Thanks for all the complements on the car, but those of you who were at the Stonor show last year, know that it needs paint... not done this yet as it's being used on track, so no point yet.
-
The Royal Oak, just off lower elmstone drive. only place i go in 'urst

Thanks!!!!

Dude are these 16" wheels? If so are they 7.5J? If so what size tyres are on them to make them stretched like they are as i have a set of momos 16" 7.5J and unsure what size to put on them as its an expencive mistake to make.
Kind regards
Dan
-
The wheels are 15" 8 or 8.5J :undecided:  and the tyre is a 195/45
If u want a simmilar sort of stretch, try a 185/45
-
great car! looks even better in the flesh!
-
looks nice bud... good on ya
-
If u want a simmilar sort of stretch, try a 185/45
please let me know if you manage to track any down? i'd love 185/45's but couldn't find any?
-
Tom you can get NanKangs from www.mytyres.co.uk, or speak to a local specialist.
-
nice one rob! i'll be ordering myself some of them as soon as i get my arches sorted
-
Bumping this as the charger is booked in for Easter time at G-Werks. Now, anyone know some good bars and clubs in Brighton ?
-
theres a really cool indie club under the arches that has plaster coming off the walls... but a really good night. Think it's called the Arc?
Make sure you drag joe out with you into brighton!!
-
Went Concord 2 which is kinda under the arches to see Guru / Jazzamataz and they never bloody showed up !
Still there car is back with a serviced charger and I am running it in.

Can't hear the sounds until I get home, so I'm sitting here making the noises myself... I've got G60 fever and no amount of V6 roar can cure it.

Actually I really like it. It is a marmite thing though.
-
Right, I need RS Center caps, and I need to change a gear box cable, bllody end snapped off !
ebay.de for the caps ?
-
I cant see the pics.
15'' or 16'' rs centre caps? I have a few 16'' spares.
Avoid the cheap ebay caps. The lattice parts dont always line up with the wheel design.
ebay.de or a wanted thread on wheel whores or edition38 :)
-
15's blue, cheers, forgot about wheel whores.
-
Caps sorted. Next an MOT and Tax!
-
