Title: mk2 16v brakes on mk1
Post by: Redbaron on 29 April 2006, 16:11
Can i fit mk2 16v 256mm brakes onto a 1983 1.8 8v mk1 gti?

Do i need to change the struts aswell? is it just the carriers or the whole hub that needs to be swapped? Im doing a 16v master cylinder on it and just want better more 'up to date' brakes basically!

cheers

alex

You need some Audi brake carriers that will bolt to the standard hub and the MK2 16V calipers and discs

You'll want the servo to go with that master cylinder as thats where the power comes from, the cylinder just moves the fluid according to the movement from the servo  :smug:
