Anyway tried it yet?
I use it quite a lot on the A3, it's an awesome display of DSG
I wouldn't mind knowing what the Golf is like?
-
Would you mind explaining how it works to a future gti owner?
Have you checked the vid with the 2 Japanese guys racing manual vs DSG GTI's ?
-
How do you do it oh exited about next Thursday one?
-
It goes like this fellas..........
1 - Pull up to the side of the road
2 - Left foot on brake
3 - Select Sport on DSG
4 - Turn OFF any Traction aids
5 - Dial up 3000 RPM with right foot
6 - Check road is clear
7 - Release left foot from brake
8 - HOLD ON!
There's no limit to the number of times you can do it, unlike the M3 with SMG I had a demo in some time ago
Matty
I'll get trying it with the Golf once it's run in...
-
I'll go try it later!
-
let me know doc, although i think the R32 will be exactly the same
-
I tried it and it works
I can't see it doing the clutch any good though
-
CLUTCHES!
I thought the same, but it is somewhere in the book (a black thing in your boot) and there's NO limit to the amount of times you can do it
How did you find it?
There's a moment of nothing and then 'BANG' you're off

The DSG runs with two clutches, one in the gear your using and one pre-empting the next gear, it's a clever wee barsteward. it's how is manages to be sooooo smooth

It should be, that's where i found it! I was bored so don't mock me for reading the manual  it's not a case of recommending but it will tell you how to use the launch control facility and WON'T invalidate the warranty

To two and a very funny way to blast away from the lights

Agreed, but there's nothing better for showboating to your mates  :smug:
I just want to see what the GTi does under the same conditions, i think it'll leave two black lines up the road!!! If i want to rocket the boxster i have to turn off the psm or i'll just sit there like a plank and destroy the clutch
-
I was going to say your GTi will spin like feck!
-
I think so. Once I've run it in I'll check it out.....
-
With your left foot on the brake, how do you rev to 3000?
Mine blogs down.............
-
Mine did the same untill I took it into N than returned to S then it was ok ok
