BUT its tooo dear - I'd cough up the extra 2k and buy a GTi!

looks like a good car, with what looks like a hell of an engine( on paper at least) but looks to be too expensive, I would rather pay extra for a Gti, but I think it will be very popular, cheaper running costs.

that engine as either been nominated or has one awards for its inginuity! (the 1.4 TSI 170PS)

I'm not convinced... all sounds really good, but with a supercharger AND a turbo the possibility of things going wrong in 5-10 years are greater. Also, I wonder if VW have sorted out the supercharger or is it still as fragile as the one on the G60.

hmm i reckon they would have done extensive tests on it but as has already been said an extra 2k would get you a GTI

The Charger their using is an eaton e24 same as on the copper S mini's i think so should be stronger than
the g-lader

as long as it don't shred the front tyres every time you pull off!!! i sometimes have probs with my stock 130... :embarassed:

oh yea i forgot about the 170PS TDI, wouldnt mind having a dabble in a fast diesel, have only ever driven the mark 5 105PS which i was very impressed with for a great al lrounder
