Title: Dropped Card into dash on Golf
Post by: JonnoGti on 25 April 2006, 14:51
Hi guys I have lost my bank card in my car. I put it on the ashtray after i bought some diesel and the card has slipped down behind the ashtray . Anyone know how to get access to that area? There seem to be 2 screws either side of the plastic piece, is this the key to getting it? Also what tool do i need to loosen the screws. Do I need an Alan key or just a phillips cross? Please help- thanks

I used to do that with my fuel card!! I used to pull the side of the centre console out in the kickwell shake it a bit and it should fall out, if not a couple of scres on the side of the tunnel and it will let you pull it right out. :)

I dropped some money and went down the abck of the ashtray and also fell out from the sides of the centre console. See if you can get your fingers under the console and have some one else wiggling it.

I think most of the interior is held together with Torx screws (star shaped) not phillips heads.

Right Well the good news is Ive got my bank card (theres no bad news sorry lol). I think the above posts are similar to this. I basically pulled the side console out with one hand. Not too hard or it could snap. With the other hand I pushed into the area and just started feeling about. I got my card, along with about 20 other business cards from prev owner I think and 60p!! lol!! My hand was killing tho cos it was so tight but it was worth it to get my bank card!
