Guys, new to this forum, just sold my W reg Nissan 200sx and bought a Golf GTi 1.8T. I want to know if what I paid is reasonable...how much do you think this would be worth:

- 99' 'T' Plate
- Diamond Black
- 5 Door
- Full VW Service History
- Air con (not climate)
- Electric sunroof
- 6 CD autochanger
- 66,000 miles
- Private sale
- Good condition

Also, when do the cambelts need changing on these? Is it 60k or 80k? What sort of money am I looking at for a 70k service with a cambelt change?

Don't know about price. If the cambelt is the original one then i'd change it now.

It is the original I think as the last owner didn't change it and it doesnt look like it's been done from the SH. I think i'll wait a couple of k and get it done at the 69k service.

Any idea's on cost? And is it worth going to a local specialist instead of a dealer?

Parkers price it at around ?7,500 but that's usually quite high.

It was up for ?7500, I got him down to 7k....is that reasonable?

It says in the handbook athe cambelt should be changed between 80 k and 115k so i was told by a vw speicialist.
But 7 k sounds ok for your motor :)

7,500k is a good price u bought the right one the 2.0 is slow. ;D

yeah you got a good model, but mr tomrc hass got a 2.0, a 1.8t and and r32!!!, so i think the 2.0 would feel slow not that speed would be a problem for him!!, i think your curfue is nearly up tomrc, your spose to be back in your mental hospital by six pm, so on your way theres a good lad

look mr bt boss or whoever you are if you aint got owt sensible to say goto the chat section as that is for all that type stuff!!, come along to our newark meet if you aint got a cam and show us one of your cars!!! or all 3!! lol ;D, but if theres only you just bring the r32 so we can all drool!

I paid 7k not 7.5k, it's the turbo model.
