Title: 2.0 Bottom end Reference Guide.

Ive noticed it gets asked allot which bottom ends you can use when converting your 8v or 16v to a 2 litre. So thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of 2.0 litre bottom ends that can be used on 8v and 16v conversion. I will make a start and would appreciate it if other could add their knowledge. Once complete i will make the topic stickified.

2e - From MK3 Golf GTI, Passat and some SEATs

16v

9A - From a passat/corrado
11J - From Audi
6A - From Audi 80
ABF - from MK3 Golf GTI 16v & some SEATs

Perhaps the pros and cons of each too? (size, compatibility of ancilliaries, etc.)

I've got a TSR engine 1900cc job...what benefit would I get from putting a 2.0 litre bottom end on my engine?

I don't even know what it means!!! Can someone please explain  :embarassed:

You forgot 3a from audi 80 (8v). David you would get more power/torque from 2lt bottom end than your 1.9 block.

anxilery wise its pretty simple:
If its from an audi you'll have to swap everything over, including the sump, brackets etc.
If its from a VW you can swap if you like, or you can keep whatever is on there and use the belts for the car it came from.

Extra bits to note:
For the 2e engine, if you have a digifant 8v already it will go straight on & plug in fine.  If you have a k-jet you'll have to swap on your old k-jet dizzy with the 2e gear on the bottom and an adaptor from TSR to make it fit.  It also has a breather on the front which you can either blank off with a plate form TSR, or fit & use the OE 2e breather system.

For the Audi 3a, I'm 99.9%sure its a k-jet lump, in which case if you have a k-jet it will go straight on, if you have a digifant you'll need a digifant dizzy.  However in this case I'm pretty sure the standard GTI dizzy will drop straight in.
