Hi Guys

As some of your are aware my Rallye is being delivered next week. Its currently fitted with Borbet A's that i am not keen on. Wanting to change the rims ASAP. Its just what to choose. Had the Brock B2's on my Mk2 GTi that I think looked pretty cool  :smug: dont think they would look great on a Rallye though.

If you dont like the above choices, let me know what you recon looks good, as there are so many different rims out I might not have found the ones i like yet.

I'm kinda likin the RH ZW1's at the mo...  But then the BBS are nice, but not sure they will suit the Rallye Style..

Give me your opinions...

Ive only ever seen one Rallye with the Rh's on... and thats the one below... U seen a few then?

think i have seen a few mk2's with them one......just i have never seen the kershers before....and i like them :tongue:

The Crowns are nice.. but very expensive.. Would cost me £1316 for just the wheels, no tyres. Not sure i can justify that.. Shall see though..

RH's will set me back about £836 without tyres. Thats within my budget...

Can you tell which rims I am moving towards?  :wink:

The old gal is not doing much at the moment, still working out if I can convert my headlight from left to righthand drive. Also need to order a fuel pump. Need these for the MOT.   :cry:

So been cruisin in my Beetle (wot a difference in speed! :laugh:)

What colour is yours, look same as mine. Blue ones are slower btw, ask Topher. lol

Need to get a few bits sorted on the Rallye before letting anyone seeing it..  :smug:

Size wise all depends what rims i go for....

RH zw1's will be a 17" - 8" on the front, 9" at the rear.

Porsche 90's will be 16's - 7" on the front, 8" at the rear (funny offset and adapters)

I will be at GTi International this year and maybe squeeze a few more in. busy year ahead with wedding etc.

when i got my rallye it had 17's on it but i soon changed them for 16's as i found the 17's didnt make it handle to good

6k is way over my budget.... The Rallye I have brought has loads of potential.

Ive been having thinkin about the whole 17" handling problem... This 90's are looking far more attractive...

LOL... yeah...I consider a Rallye to be an investment.. Dont see them dropping in price much more.. And only three years until they hit classic car status.

Apparently you can have a Rallye resprayed and you will never loose the money the respray cost you. if its a good job of course. Id say with a full respray the one i have would be worth 6k. If i were to do it though, id strip the engine out, interior out, have the floor plan resealed so it was like a new car. Would be worth it in the long run..

Hey...

Some more Porsche Rims have popped up... Watcha recon... They are 16"... and 7/8". Would probably stretch a Toyo 195/45 tyre on these..

Nice wheels mate, My mate just picked up his rallye yesterday after selling his black one, r/h/d conv with 17" BBS rs001's with gold bolts car's well mint. Will get pics soon put them up on site.

I dont want to be another mk2 with a set of Porsche times on it though...

Wheels do my head in i tell ya.. Just fitted 4 new boots to the car so whatever wheel im looking at needs to be a 16".

thing is, you are not just another MK2, yours is a Rallye, with some mint polished 7 Slots on it. I think that would look fat as f**k.

It's with them or Keskin KT5 Blacks i reckon. (sorry i got a thing for them at the mo)
