Title: gti exhaust on a 1.3 golf
Post by: mk2singh on 22 April 2006, 20:42
ive got to replace my back box as theres a hole in the back of it, but i was thinking if would be able to fit a gti back box straight onto the 1.3 centre section, because i like the standard look off the gti exhaust with the two chrome tips?? will i have to replace the centre pipe with a gti one aswell?? but would the centre section fit onto the 1.3 manifold?? its a golf 1.3 ryder btw. any help would be gr8 thx

unfortunatly it wont fit, you cant even use a 1.8 driver downpipe either as the 1.3 zuast is different.  What I would do is get a complete GTI zaust from the front silencer back, then get a zaust place to make you up an adaptor pipe from the downpipe to the front tilencer.  Ask them to leave the GTI pipe unmodified if they can, then if you get a GTI engine later you can just bolt it straight up

or just buy a Gti..  the money you must be spending to try and make that car "look" like a Gti would probably pay the diffrence in insurance right?  plus dont it pi$$ you off getting whooped by people at the lights thinking you have a GTi
