Title: Finally bought my first MK2 Gti..... ** now with pics **

After a longtime of searching and waiting for my Civic Type R to sell, I've bought my MK2 GTi. It's a Tornado Red, 5 door, 8v GTi. It wasn't really what I had in mind but was the best condition Golf I looked at, either 3 or 5 door, 8v or 16v. It was cheaper than i was planning on spending too ( as was budgetting for a 3 door 16v) but this can now be used to do the small things that I want to do myself.

Need to change the wheels as I hate the ones on it (TSW's i think they are) and also want to spend a few pennies on getting as much out of the engine as possible (as it does feel a wee bit less powerful than my typeR :tongue:) but all in all I'm really happy with it!!

Once i get my computer at home up and running properly I'll post up all my pics, I've taken quite a few since buying her, so you can all see what it is thats put a bigger smile on my face than most of my previous cars, just because of the stature and character she has.

Just wanted to put my smile into words for you all,n  :smiley:

Nice to see another convert from the Jap Brigade.

If you can, try to replace the TSW's with some original BBS wheels, or something similar, they always make a Golf look damn nice :cool:

well done mate. looking forward to seeing some pictures

i myself have also just bought a 5 door red 8 valve, totally standard tho, which is the way its going to stay, only using it as a run around for a wee while!

hope to do fairly soon tho I have got a bonnet i need to go and collect. Just needed a run around thats all as my scirocco died on its arse.

So there we go, thats the new motor, I really like it, hope you guys do to (and if not I don't really care because I do, but would still appreciate your feedback!!)

Looks sweet as a nut mate, very tidy. I do love a tornado red golf when its all cleaned!

the only real bad point is the small dent in the passeneger side front wing, you can see it on the last pic, thats the main thing that annoys me.
