Well, I got it today at 9.30 and have only just stopped playing with it! (22:47!)
That DSG 'box is worth every penny!

looks O,K, but i'd want the headlights out of the old GTI (they looked more tinted black)and then get the silver dribble on the nose painted blue to match the rest.... :huh:
but i just don't think i like it, i don't know what it is about it, but i can't feel for it, obviously i realise that it is indeed a very nice and hopefully quick car, just not very appealing to me :undecided:

dont get me wrong, i know it's a nice car and would obviously be happy to own one and i'm buzzin to bits for ya, but i can't feel for it, don't know what it is, think it may be the silver beard... :huh:

Tbh..i was never a fan until i seen them pics..
i think the silver actually looks nice..its just like wen people add chrome bits to their car i reckon, some peoples taste, some not..
not likin the exhausts, but thats just cos i always only like one anyhoo.. :laugh:

The only reason I would not buy a Mk5 R32 is the 4-wheel drive - I have it on the G60 Syncro and had it on a Subaru and it isn';t as involving or fun as a FWD - and the voracious fuel consumption - I had a Mk3 VR6 which has basically the same engine as the R32 but smaller at 2.8L, and the VR6 drank fuel like it was a thirsty camel in the desert :shocked:

I know what you mean about seeing them in the flesh, I keep driving past my local dealer to see if they have a demo car so i can go and sit in it, but i dnt think they do!.........how sad am I! ha ha!

37 mpg on the GTI sounds about right... Doc you had DSG transmission with yor GTI didn't you? Are you sure it actually changed gears past 2nd? :laugh

Doc, i am in love with the R32 and think your a very lucky chap you must of worked hard, there any jobs going for me where you work :laugh:.
i dunno what i prefer now the MK4 or MK5 R32 i think there both stunning beasts.

Coooooooooooool fella, and 22 mpg is pretty good for a fun motor!
I manage 22 mpg average and use the Boxster S everyday (13K a year), when I'm using the misses A3 3.2 V6 i'm lucky to see 20 but then the 'sport' mode on the DSG is just sooooooooooo lush :evil:

Funny you should say that as Will (worker) struggles to get above 20 MPG in the A3 3.2 Manual s-line blah blah!!!

The Audi 3.2 is a thirst bugger at the best of times! How the misses gets 27-29 average MPG I'll never work out!
I think the Audi must weigh at least 2 tonne :laugh:
