Title: Fuel Pump Relay Help
Post by: dan.lewis on 19 April 2006, 16:58
Bought a 85 mk1 Cab and whoever had it has the fuel pump on a switch. So to start the car switch has to be on and when engine is off switch has to be turned off.

I'd like to get it running of the relay again,

So diagrams/doodles anything that helps me out

cheers

Is it not maybe a good anti-thft device having it on a switch?

Never permenantly bypass the relay (we've all done it temporarily to prove faults)...........you don't want the car pumping out fuel after an accident where a fuel line has been ruptured. For what it costs, just not worth the risk.

I have some diagrams that may help depending on how badly your loom has been doctored.
