Title: Newbie needs help

Well after leaving UK and my peugeot 306 GTi6,  I need a motor in Poland. There seems to be alot of mk3 gti's, 16v and vr6's.
Which one do i get? How do they compare in acceleration , top speeds and mpg. anything else would be greatly appreciated as i know nowt about golfs. :undecided:

Speed - VR6, 16v, 8v
Fuel economy-  8v, 16v, VR6
