Title: Rumbly noise 16v

My 16v engine is making a rumbling noise which sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine. My mate reckons it's just the water pump on its way out but I'm not sure. Anyone got any ideas?

Is this normal?(it's my first 16v).

hydrolic tappets making that noise?  ???
