everything was fine. i had painted up all the rust spots and it was looking perfect! then today i decided to wax and polish the car. Now u can see everywhere i have sprayed realy obvious. that sh!ty line from like dark to light where the original paint has faided a bit.
argh im having a nervous break down here! :'( what to do?
-
T-Cut?
-
i tried it mate. all it does is gradualy flake off all the paint and jsut make the line go back a bit. i dont understand why the wax has made the paint differences visable.
anyone else had problems like this? mabey its jsut cos im a perfectionist
-
The wax will bring up the new paint. If paint is flaking off when you are cutting it back then the surface you have painted on to hasn't been prepared properly. Did you key the whole area which has been painted?
Also, it is near impossible to get paint out of a can to look as good if you are blending it in to old paint work. My advice would be to paint the whole panel.
-
I had my panel resprayed before i got my car. YOU CANNOT GET A COLOUR MATCH ON OLDER CARS THESE DAYS!
my car looked nice from close up but at a distance there was a darker shade of blue which stood out like a sore thumb >:(
My advice......?700 full respray which will last you years ;D
-
yeh. the thing is im only gunna have the car for like 5 months at the very most! so it wont be worth it.
then ill get a new mk2. i want a GTI but the insurance will be mad! whats the best i can go for for power and speed. at the moment i have a 1.6 carb. im only jsut 18!
-
i no what u mean about it standing out lol!
if its in the correct light it looks perfect. Then it gets a bit of sun on it and it looks crap!
-
I got insured on my Gti at 17. I got another quote for ?1100 fully with mods. Im 18 also. U have to ring around. elephant.co.uk is the best i think ::)
-
was that fully comp or what?
im a named driver on my 1.6 and thats like ?700
i thought GTIs would be over the ?2000 mark to be insured.
what litre was it that u had?
-
fully comp with my dad. 1 years Bonus at the end of the year if i make it :-X
its the car in the pic. 1.8 8v GTi
It was just over the ?2000 mark but i got quoted on a 1.25 fiesta 16v for ?1800 so I brought my mk2 :-\
-
nice. how much did u pay for your car? my mk2 was my dads till he got a mk3 so i got givin the mk2. thought i mares well just rag it as its free! then in the mean time i got a sh!te load of money building up in the bank for my next car. 8)
-

-

fast standard mk2 golf = 16v
8v's are slow but good fuel econemy
-
my GTI will come once ive writtin my 1.6 off lol.
so i should have a GTI within the month
-
LOL THAS MY BOY! SCAMS DO WORK TRUST ME! HAHAHA
If you damage the roof enough then it will be classed as a rite-off, u can then flog the decent parts :P
-
;D then all i have to do is rip off the under side of the steering wheel, connect the red and black together with the blue wire near by. put sum gloves on the drivers seat.
perfect setup.
then i jsut take all the sh!t off it like head unit and sub and report it stolen the next morning when they descover it in a near by field all nicely written off lol.
-
lol
i dont know much about hot wiring. Is the blue wire used for starting the car once the black and red wires are connected?
-
ohh and make sure you claim all your sound setup.
''yeah the twit also took my 15" rockford's officer'' hehehe
-
here it is for u step by step:
pull off the left bottom bit of plastic. the ignition key slot part runs down about aslong as half a smarty packet. on the end u will find a coin shaped bit of plastic with 3 wired pushed into it.
rip these off and u will have a red, black, and blue.
connect the red and black, this will connect the battery circuit. all the wipers and fans will start goin on lol. The blue wire goes to the starter motor. connect this to the red and black to no more than 2 seconds. hey presto! 8)

what about the steering lock? ???
-
if a simple nock up and down does not work try this.
1. get behind the wheel and actualy saw it off (only on some cars)
2. get a pipe like the ones found on a building site and put it round the ignition bit and jump on it. this will snap the lock.
3. pull off the cap of the ignition and use a screw driver to get it off.
8)
do u want to no how to disable alarms aswell lol?
-
lol thats enuff for me mate. the metal pipe your on about is called 'conduit' right?
Im a trainee electrician. I keep some metal pipe hidden in my car incase of hi-jackers! (bedford has a few hi-jackers) >:(
-
i tried it all on my jetta and dumped orion. so dont go thinking ive been blagging cars.
thats harsh.... well unless its really nice 8)
-
yaeh that is way out of order stealing someones ride or even audio.
-
if anyone stole my stuff i would have to pull a 9mm gat on them. 8)
do u no if u pull the seal off on the front window u can jsut pull the windscreen off?
i sometimes wonder while i am safely tucked up in my bed what is happening with my car sat all alone in the pikey wilderness.
-
damn!
Im a very light sleeper. any noise from outside and i check on the cars. my car was targeted once before :'(
