Hi, I have an 8valve GTI. For a couple of weeks it intermitantly died after starting unless I kept the revs up for a few seconds when it then idled hapilly. This got worse until it wouldn't start at all, just turned over with no spark. Was told the ignition module was faulty which was replaced. Its now over a month later and the problem is back but now when I go over 4000 revs it starts spluttering too.
I would be very grateful for any ideas and does anyone know where the ignition module is?
Cheers!

I've had spluttering before at higher revs. It turned out to be the timing crystal or something like that.
Its located in engine bay, on the drivers side underneath where the wiper rests.
Worth a try.
Regards,
Justin
