..... for the first time in 4 1/2 months.
She needed a new battery but fired up first turn of the key (She's not been started since christmas!) and roared into life.
Took her for a blast to get the sufface rust off the discs and I can't stop grinning.
She's off for a new clutch this arvo and when I get her back it's time to start sorting out all the little problems and get her back into daily use.
Woo, hoo and indeed yay!

Good work my boy. I started my Sierra for the first time since Friday and it was a struggle. Now get back to working on Minis, you know it makes sense.

I wish my 8 valve would start first turn of the key! takes for ever to start!

Ha ha well I have finished rebuilding the Mrs Cooper for the Riv Run so that ones done. Mine is now garaged awaiting a bare shell rebuild over the winter. I've got the Golf to sort out, the camper interior to finish building and a Seicento Abarth to tidy up and sell.
Busy? Me? Never!

P.S I really should sort out my sig as the golf doesn't look like that anymore and I sold my BRG mini about 6 months ago!

Uuurrggghghh
Drove all the way to Henley today to do some stuff for my mum and pick up the golf (leaving the Fiat behind in henley till I sell it) and it's not ready!
The poor guy who does my big jobs I'm too lazy to do myself is rushed off his feet working on his own. He's rang me twice today to say he's trying to finish it off but he keeps getting interupted. He's hoping to get it done by 7pm tonight, if not I'll have to come back tomorrow which will cost me another £10 in fuel, not good when you're unemployed :-(
I was soo looking forward to getting it back today with a working clutch too :-(

Bugger it wasn't ready today.
I went up to go and have a look at what he'd done and the clutch was a mess. THe diaphram had colapsed and there was barely any material left on it.
Saying that not bad for 18 years and 150,000 miles as it;s the original clutch!
Should be picking her up tomorrow lunchtime

did you get it back?
-
I did yes and then promptly drove into a pot hole and wrecked one of my wheels and a brand new tyre :-(
I'm currently trying to source some new wheels and the interior is in bits as I'm in the iddle of refitting a Heater Matrix.

Well I think I have sorted the rims. Hopefully getting some BBS's off an E30 Beemer. They should look good as they're offset is better than the VW ones so they fill the arches better.
The TSW Blades I have at the moment are E30 offset and looked mint till I broke one!
