Title: mk2 rear hatch thing
Post by: mk2_singh on 15 April 2006, 21:54

i seen it on a few mk2s basically want to remove the mk2 plastic thing remove the lock and have a metal thing to replace it. Is this a custom fabrication or off the shelf jobby?

i think it'll be a custom fab for metal

Maybe you could take it off and use fibreglass to fill the lock/button hole, sand it down nice and smooth and spray it...

I'm going to try it if i can get a boot release hooked up...

You can buy a delocked plinth to give a smoother look, otherwise its a custom fab job. Cult society do quite a cool plinth with the lock relocated to the underside of the plinth, so you get the smooth look but still have the external lock there if you need it.
