Title: filter housing oil seal

does anybody know where to  purchase the oil seal under the filter housing cover on a mk1 golf gti  DX coded engine apparently its obsolete from VW

Try German Parts Centre (GPC) in Luton - 01582 728892.

GSF normally have a good stock of MK1 bits.

Unless I have read this wrong, which is quite possible, it comes with the filter that you have bought..........assuming its a genuine filter :undecided:

Is it defo obsolete now? I bought one only last year from VW dealer. It's a bog standard O-ring though so if you know the size guess could buy elsewhere?

thanks for all the suggestions but my VW dealer ( SINCLAIR GARAGES BRIDGEND) managed to source one through the dealer network 'last one in the country' they said and after telephoning  eight various dealers countrywide with no success i well believe them
