Title: VR6 suspension on a MK2
Post by: maaarcooose on 12 April 2006, 15:22
Can you fit shocks and spring sets designed for VR6 on a MK2.

Probably a dumb question.

Yes you can, provided you replace the top mounts too, same with Corrado VR6 suspension.  The low spec MK3s have exactly the same suspension setup (with different poundage springs), as does the Corrado.

BUT don't expect it to sit right as the VR is much heavier than the smaller lumps, though perhaps if you get coilover suspension you might just have enough adjustment to get the front low enough.

Your saying lowspec mk3 suspension is exactly the same as mk2 suspension (bar springs)?

I thought the shocks looked the same.

Might buy the second hand VR6 set then instead of a new MK2 set.

Hmmmm.......
