Title: 5dr seats in a 3dr?? do they fit?
Post by: cupra20v.t on 10 April 2006, 12:31: will the rear bench from a 5 door golf gti fit into a 3 door golf gti?Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â with no modifacations?Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â does anyone know.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â cheers

Post by: cupra20v.t on 10 April 2006, 16:21: yes both a mk3 but the only prob i got now is the titl forward mechanism, the 5 dr doesn't have it. any ideas of a way around it apart from not take more than 1 passenger. :grin:

Alternatively, I have a friend that bought a set of recaros from a 5 door and to fit them in his 3dr he simply pulled the foam and material of the seats and put it onto a seat frame/mecahnism from a pair of old tilting seats and then cut around the levers. Worked very well, didn't take long and looks factory, so good in fact that i'm about to do it myself! :smiley:

I'm not doing them anymore, getting them done a friend who's already done it before!! I've asked him to take a few pictures of how! Will post them as soon as possible mate! :wink:
